Which suppliers do we use ?
The suppliers are - Thrifty, National Sixt, Alamo and Europcar, dependant on the country and/or city you require your car from. Airport-car.co.uk is an internet booking agent for World Car Rentals, which is part of UK Car rentals Ltd (Registered Limited Company NO: 04090003). For each location, be it a holiday or business trip, luxury or economy vehicle, we will find the best price available. All cars are under 6 months old, serviced and cleaned.

When is my car voucher sent to me?
In the UK we will send your voucher by email usually withing two hours of your booking (during working hours). For vehicles abroad the vouchers are sent within 7 days unless you are travelling sooner than this, if so, we will get in touch to arrange a quicker delivery. If you do not receive your booking voucher after 7 days then contact us quoting your booking reference number. The voucher should be presented upon pick up of your car at the airport rental desk.

Do I need to reconfirm my car reservation?
There is no requirement to confirm your booking once you have recieved your voucher from us. However, keep a note of your booking reference number to quote if necessary.

What information or documentation will I need to collect my car? Top You will need two forms of identification, your passport (photo ID), drivers licence, prepaid (part paid for UK) car voucher and a valid credit card preferrably in the drivers name. In some countries outside Europe, you may also need an International Drivers Permit, full details can be sourced at . Who do I contact if I want to change my car hire details or cancel?
For airport rentals you will need to contact 0870 9000 533 or email sales@world-car-rental.net. You will need to quote your booking reference number and amendments may incurr an aditional charge, therefore, we recommend you opt for the cancellation protection available when you book. This allows you to make changes, or even cancel, for no extra charge up to 48 hours before you hire.

What sort of licence do I need to drive abroad?
Each country has different rules regarding driving licences. You will need to produce your original driving licence (no photocopy or faxed copy) when you collect your car and you may need to produce an International Drivers Permit as well. Remember that if you have a new UK photo licence then this needs to be accompanied with the paper licence as well, in order to be valid.

What happens if I break down or have an accident?
If you have an accident or your car breaks down you need to contact the rental location listed on your voucher for either a new vehicle or authorisation for any repairs. In the event of an accident, write down as many details as you can, exchange contact details with others involved. Draw a picture of the accident scene or take photos, find witnesses and alert the police as soon as possible to obtain a signed police report. Keep as much documantation as possible.

Will I get the make and model of the car that I have requested?
This depends on availability upon your arrival. We cannot guarantee the exact make and model, however, the hire company will provide a similar model, or will up grade you at no extra cost.

Do we charge extra for mileage.
Our cars are provided with unlimited mileage.

What is one way rental?
A 'One way rental' is where a car is collected from one airport and returned to a different one. One way rental can be from your home town to an airport or the reverse. It could be collecting a car in France and dropping off in Spain. There may be some restrictions with one way rentals in some countries and the details should be checked at the time of booking.

Is there a One Way Surcharge?
Yes. The charge is not large unless you are going one way from one country to another country. It is not possible to go one way from the U.K. and drop off in another country.

Do we have to pay extra for insurance?
No, insurance is included in your rental charge, but there may be a damage excess. In most UK locations you will be given the option of reducing this excess, details are presented during the booking process.

What is a damage excess?
The amount of money you are responsible for if you damage the car.

Can I pay an extra charge to reduce the damage excess?
Yes, this is referred to as a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). It is a daily charge paid to reduce your liability should any accidental damage occur.

Can I pay with my Switch or debit card?
Yes, you can use a card such as Switch or Delta but only for the booking and paying ofr the rental. When you collect your car, the rentals office will not accept a 'debit card' to cover the deposit, this can only be done with a Visa card, Mastercard or Amex credit cards in the name of the renter.

What happens if my flight is late?
Providing that you have given us a valid flight number (during the booking process) the hire desk will remain open and hold your car.

Is the car supplied with a full tank of fuel?.
Normally the tank is full and should be returned full.

Is there a charge for extra drivers?
There is almost always an extra driver charge.
